August 14, 2010: Official CD Release:
Susan Hoover, poet, and Sera Smolen, cellist, celebrated the release of their new CD, Xerox the Clouds, on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Photosensualis, in Woodstock, NY. The CD showcases the individual talents of the two artists, yet they meld beautifully and seamlessly in a concerted duet. Susan reads some of her poetry while Sera simultaneously creates her own musical lyricism on the cello. The sound of the spoken word and the haunting voice of the cello swirl rhythmically and melodiously around each other, sometimes together, sometimes separately, but always in a blended and intertwined harmony that enhances each of the performers. The effect is luminous.
